In a bid to navigate global economic uncertainties, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has advocated for enhanced economic collaboration with Japan, focusing on bolstering supply chains for advanced industries. This call for cooperation was made during a meeting with a Japanese business delegation headed by Yoshinobu Tsutsui, chairman of the Japan Business Federation, held in Seoul.
President Lee underscored the vital role of business communities in both South Korea and Japan in driving economic growth. He urged for a forward-looking approach to deepen bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the necessity of strengthening business alliances, fostering people-to-people exchanges, and enhancing diplomatic engagement between the two nations. Lee also remarked that improving public perception of each other could unlock further opportunities for economic collaboration.
Yoshinobu Tsutsui, representing the Japanese business delegation, echoed the sentiment of collaboration, highlighting the importance of solidarity among like-minded countries to tackle global economic challenges. He assured that Japanese and South Korean businesses would continue to work closely to address these issues.
The Japanese delegation’s visit to Seoul coincided with the 33rd annual meeting between the Japan Business Federation and South Korea’s Federation of Korean Industries. This meeting serves as a platform for business leaders from both countries to explore economic ties and potential areas for cooperation.
