South Korea, Cambodia Pledge Stronger Trade and Economic Cooperation

Date:

South Korea has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening trade and commercial relations with Cambodia during talks between Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and his South Korean counterpart Cho Hyun on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
Minister Cho praised Cambodia’s support for Korean enterprises operating in the Kingdom and expressed Seoul’s willingness to expand bilateral trade further. Both ministers also agreed to intensify joint efforts against human trafficking and fraud networks, including close cooperation on the rescue and repatriation of victims.
Trade between the two nations continues to grow, reaching $762 million in 2024—an 11.49% increase from the previous year. Cambodia’s main exports to South Korea include footwear, clothing, and aluminum, while South Korea supplies vehicles, electrical equipment, and beverages.
The Cambodia-Korea Free Trade Agreement (CKFTA) has played a central role in boosting economic ties, and both governments are now working towards a broader strategic partnership aimed at strengthening cooperation across economic and social sectors.
