Finance Minister Calls for Strong Policy Implementation and AI Adoption

Date:

Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol met with the heads of major finance-related agencies on Friday, urging them to ensure the effective implementation of the government’s key policy goals. The meeting included leaders from the National Tax Service, Korea Customs Service, and Public Procurement Service.
Koo emphasized the need for all agencies to focus on improving public service productivity and promoting innovation in the private sector. He encouraged the integration of artificial intelligence into operations to enhance efficiency and transparency.
The minister’s remarks follow the government’s announcement of a five-year economic development plan under the Lee Jae Myung administration, which identifies AI as a central driver of a “super-innovation economy” powered by technology and structural reforms.
Koo also addressed the recent data center fire, stressing the importance of swift restoration and a thorough review of disaster response systems to prevent future incidents.
