LG Electronics is carving out new avenues for growth by focusing on robotic actuators and business-to-business (B2B) appliances. The electronics giant is gearing up for potentially substantial orders from leading global tech firms. LG has engineered actuators that are lighter, more efficient, and competitively priced, with plans underway for mass production. Currently, the company is engaged in negotiations with several major technology companies and is optimistic about securing its first significant order soon.
Earlier this year, LG introduced its LG Axium actuator brand, leveraging its extensive experience in motors, drive controls, and component design honed through its home appliance segment. To support this new venture, LG aims to establish a fully automated actuator production line at its Changwon facility by the year’s end. The company anticipates a surge in demand for actuators, especially in the context of physical AI and humanoid robotics, as early as 2030. In preparation, LG intends to deploy humanoid robots at its Tennessee plant and Changwon smart factory, with plans to eventually introduce these robots into household settings as safety technologies advance.
Expanding its horizons, LG is also ramping up its B2B appliance segment. The built-in appliance and commercial laundry divisions have each seen annual revenue growth exceeding 40% over the past three years. In a bid to bolster its presence in Europe, LG is both augmenting its specialist sales force and enhancing its premium built-in brands. By the end of the year, the company plans to increase its product displays to 3,000 outlets across the continent.
On the commercial laundry front, LG is focusing on larger-capacity machines and is actively expanding partnerships across Southeast Asia. In Europe, the company is placing a strong emphasis on promoting high-efficiency appliances, aligning with its strategic objective to emerge as a leading home appliance company in the region by 2030.
