Iran “Went Through Hell,” Trump Says After US Strikes End War

Date:

President Donald Trump asserted on Wednesday that Iran “went through hell” during the recent 12-day war with Israel, attributing the conflict’s end to US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. He controversially compared the impact of these strikes to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Trump claimed that the severe consequences faced by Iran, including the US military action, forced them to abandon their nuclear weapons program. He firmly believed that Iran would not attempt to enrich uranium again, dismissing intelligence that suggested a limited impact of the strikes.
The conflict began with Israeli bombings of Iranian nuclear facilities, motivated by concerns about their nuclear program. Iran maintained its nuclear activities were peaceful. The ensuing 12 days saw intense exchanges of fire, resulting in significant destruction and casualties.
A ceasefire, reportedly brokered by Trump, was holding, despite his prior criticisms of alleged violations. Trump’s statements highlight his perspective on the efficacy of decisive military action.
