During a series of high-level meetings in Seoul, Saudi Arabia and South Korea have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing their cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and technological investments. This collaboration aims to support innovation, boost the digital economy, and assist Saudi Arabia in its quest to become a global center for artificial intelligence. Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Al-Swaha, along with Haytham Al-Ohali, the Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, led the Saudi delegation in these discussions with senior South Korean government officials.

The dialogue between the two countries centered on enhancing digital government services, which include cooperation in unified government platforms and digital identity systems. Moreover, they discussed the implementation of AI to improve public services. The potential for closer collaboration between Saudi Arabia’s Digital Government Authority and South Korea’s Ministry of the Interior was also explored, further emphasizing the commitment to digital transformation and innovation.

In addition to governmental discussions, Al-Swaha engaged with the founder and CEO of APL Ventures to explore investment opportunities. The conversations revolved around providing support to Saudi startups and strategies for expanding their reach in international markets.
